About toEat.com

toEat.com aims to be the central point for hungry people and restaurants to congregate.  Our first release, the restaurant browser system, is only a small piece of what is on the toEat.com roadmap.  In the next 6 months we're going to be building up features to allow restaurant owners to manage their own Internet websites, online advertising portfolios, and interactive solutions for bringing more customers into their restaurants by effectively showing people what is available to them.

toEat.com: the company

toEat.com is a small company based in Bellevue, WA.  Our primary goal is doing our business right, so if you think of something that we're missing or if you find a bug please let us know.  If you have a company that is interested in partnering, please contact us for that as well, we're always interested in finding new ways to serve our customers!

toEat.com: the technology

We're going to be adding many new features soon, many of which we think have a more abstract use in the software world.  To help give back to the open source community, toEat.com will launch a developers journal detailing any problems, nuances and techniques to those interested in developing software that like what we do.  We fully support and embrace both the Open Source ideaology and the technology.  It has allowed us to build up a business with low implementation costs and we hope we have the opportunity to give back to the community.  In the next few months, we'll be releasing the application framework used here, called MagicBox, as well as some other utilities and frameworks we think the software world will find useful.

toEat.com Launches Beta 3 - August 21st, 2005
August 21st, 2005. After a month and a half of public operations and gathering great end-user feedback, statistics and bug reporting we have launched our first feature release. This release focuses on personalization and getting you to where you want to eat quicker. Some of the new features include the ability to save locations, create a list of favorite restaurants, and set default locations for when you visit toEat.com. We've also fixed many bugs, and are still working on perfecting the search engine and other behaviors of the restaurant browser. We hope you enjoy our new work.
toEat.com Launches Beta 1
July 4th, 2005: toEat.com has launched the first public version of the toEat.com restaurant finder. This is a limited in functionality launch designed to offer initial benchmarks and stress tests of the server and backend systems. toEat.com currently has over 400,000 restaurants indexed, but that data is not without problems as guests will certainly discover. Please continue checking out our service as we increase the integrity of the data, fix issues, and introduce new and useful features.
